Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group access places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
