Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, per media reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, such as:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.

The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
