A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been fatally gunned down in the metropolis of Johannesburg, sending shockwaves across a nation grappling with entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the downtown area on a Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the forty-year-old entertainer was confronted by a trio of assailants, with one began shooting at him before escaping on foot.
The reason of the attack has not been established and no arrests have been made, police said.
How It Happened
Law enforcement indicated that Stock was ambushed as he was exiting a premises close to the city center landmark.

"Authorities believe the victim was approached by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they began shooting at him before fleeing the scene on foot," a police statement confirmed.

The DJ sought to escape after he was shot but fell down a short distance away.

"We know they walked a long distance after the shooting, and investigators have been tracking them to find their location," added an official.
