The Streaming Giant Selects Spot-On Star for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season

Baroque Works is set to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, popular member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed this week that the talented performer has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve made contact with with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action series, differing from the original manga and anime.

The new cast member is joined by multiple new cast members who will portray the group to the screen, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.

Although Bon Clay is a key figure of the group, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Given season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could indicate additional alterations to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the character. Along with their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece program is set to return for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
