Ultra-Conservative Ex- Lawmaker J.A. Kast Elected as Chile Next Head of State.
Following a conclusive final ballot, ultra-conservative politician José Antonio Kast has secured the top job in Chile.
A Resounding Triumph
After more than 99% of votes tallied, Kast garnered 58.17% of the votes, beating leftist candidate Jeannette Jara, who received 41.83%.
This marks Kast's third bid for the presidency, having previously been defeated by the sitting president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 final vote.
